FAQS
Questions about what it’s like to work together?
Here are some of the most common questions I get from individuals about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, please contact me.

I included the treatment descriptions so you can see what I offer, however, we’ll decide together during your intake which treatment is right for you.

I see all clients through Grow Therapy (www.growtherapy.com), and can accept most insurances as well as private pay. I am also a provider with Modern Health EAP. You can check if your employer offers Modern Health benefits as part of your health care package.
If I’m unable to accept your insurance through Grow Therapy but you have out-of-network benefits, I’m happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit for possible reimbursement.
If you run into any problems booking with me, please reach out to me. My practice is small and can sometimes be full. I may also be able to accept some insurances that aren’t listed as active in my booking profile.

No, all sessions are virtual. I don’t have any plans to resume in person sessions.

Your first session is not ‘therapy,’ but instead an initial intake that allows me to get a good grasp of your needs, and you to get a sense of what it will be like to work together. You won’t be asked to share anything too personal or detailed; in fact, I prefer to save the details for our future work together. If I ask you a question you’d rather not answer, you can simply ask to save that topic for later.

That varies widely, based on your goals, treatment plan, and how you view therapy. If you want to come for a specific treatment, or possibly need to plan ahead for time or financial constraints, we can set a session limit during our intake and plan accordingly. Most treatments typically last for 5-15 sessions plus the initial intake.
Many people view therapy as part of their ongoing wellness plan, and they prefer to continue meeting regularly on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis, or for a series of booster sessions as needed. Given today’s world, the benefit of having your therapist available when you need them, and the difficulty in finding a new therapist, I typically recommend approaching treatment with flexibility if possible.
